The Micromaster MIDIMASTER Vector (MDV) is an inverter equipped with sensorless vector technology that is capable of regulating the speed of three-phase motors and is part of the standard product line. The Micromaster MIDIMASTER Vector (MDV) offers several features that make it an attractive option for controlling the speed of three-phase motors. Firstly, it is easy to install, program, and commission, making it a straightforward process to get up and running. Additionally, the MDV has an impressive overload capability of 200% for 3 seconds and 150% for 60 seconds, providing a level of protection to the motor and ensuring stable operation. Finally, the high starting torque and precise motor speed regulation that is achieved through vector control make the MDV an ideal choice for applications where precise motor control is required.

The Fast Current Limit (FCL) feature ensures reliable trip-free operation. The temperature range for this device is from 0 to 50°C (0 to 40°C for MIDIMASTER Vector). The device uses a standard Proportional, Integral, Derivative (PID) control loop function for closed-loop process control. A 15 V, 50 mA supply is provided for the feedback transducer. Additionally, the device has remote control capability through an RS485 serial link using the USS protocol. This feature allows for the control of up to 31 inverters through the USS protocol.

The device comes with factory default parameter settings pre-programmed. Output frequency, which determines motor speed, can be controlled in several ways. The frequency setpoint can be adjusted through the keypad, while a high-resolution analog setpoint via voltage or current input is another option. Additionally, an external potentiometer can be used to control motor speed. The device also has the capability to control motor speed through 8 fixed frequencies that can be set through binary inputs. The motorized potentiometer function and serial interface are two additional methods for controlling motor speed.

The device features a built-in DC injection brake with special COMPOUND BRAKING and a built-in brake chopper for an external resistor (MMV). The device has programmable acceleration/deceleration times with a smoothing function. It has two fully-programmable relay outputs with 13 functions, as well as fully-programmable analog outputs (1 for MMV, 2 for MDV). The device has an external Options connector for the optional multi-language Clear Text Display (OPM2), PROFIBUS-DP module, or CANbus module. If the Clear Text Display (OPM2) is fitted, dual motor-parameter sets are available. The device has automatic recognition of 2, 4, 6, or 8-pole motors through its software, and also has an integral software-controlled cooling fan. The device can be mounted side-by-side without additional clearance, and optional protection to IP56 (NEMA 4/12) is available for MIDIMASTER Vector inverters.
