The CIMR-VU4A0004FAA Variable Frequency Drive manufactured by Yaskawa is an AC drive within the V1000 series. The dimensions of this vector control drive are 5.89 inches high x 4.25 inches wide x 5.41 inches deep. The CIMR-VU4A0004FAA is a 3-input phase drive with an input range of 380 v to 480 V AC. The Yaskawa CIMR-VU4A0004FAA has 3 HP and is available for purchase at MRO Electric and Supply.
The rating for the CIMR-VU4A0004FAA is NEMA 1. There are three main circuit terminals when connecting this module. Before wiring the variable frequency drive, the NEMA 1 open-chassis front, and bottom cover are removed by loosening the screws that lock them into place. The cover removes when pressure is applied to both sides as you pull the cover away.
A description of Yaskawa CIMR-VU4A0004FAA main circuit wiring includes information about the terminal, the type, and function. Terminals R/L1, S/L2, and T/L3 are main circuit power supply input connections. The function of the main circuit power supply is to connect line power to the drive. Terminals U/T1, V/T2, and W/T3 are drive output connections. The job of the drive output connection is to connect the drive to the motor. Terminals B1 and B2 are braking resistor connections. The braking resistor connections are available for connecting a braking resistor or the braking resistor option to the unit. There are 2 available DC-link choke connections. The DC-link choke connections are terminals are shorted and the short must be removed between connections 1 and 2 so the CIMR-VU4A0004FAA unit can then be connected to the DC link. There is one connection terminal for the DC power supply input. The DC power supply input connection is used to connect a DC power supply. The final connections on the Yaskawa CIMR-VU4A0004FAA Variable Frequency Drive are 2 ground terminals. The ground terminals are made for grounding the vector control drive.
The functions that apply to the multi-function digital inputs, multi-function digital outputs, the multi-function pulse inputs and outputs, and multifunction photocoupler outputs are determined by the drive parameters.
The Yaskawa CIMR-VU4A0004FAA Variable Frequency Drive has a switch for I/O connections. The two modes are sinking and sourcing. The DIP switch S3 is located on the front of the drive. It is used to switch the digital input terminal logic between the two different modes. It is preset to sinking mode and must be switched to achieve sourcing mode.
-Control digital inputs by NPN transistors by setting the DIP switch S3 to SINK and use an internal 24 V power supply.
-Control digital inputs by PNP transistors by setting the DIP switch S3 to SOURCE and use an external 24 V power supply.
When selecting DIP switch S1 analog input signals, there can either be a voltage or a current signal input regarding the main frequency. A1 and A2 can both be used for voltage signals, but current signals, you must use A2.
Set DIP switch S1 to the left position, the “V” position, and program parameter H3-09 to “0” or “1” when using input A2 as a voltage input. Terminal A2 used for current input uses the DIP switch S1 setting “I” with parameter settings H3-09= “2” or ”3”.
The braking resistor is a feature that allows your motor to come to a smooth stop in a quick manner when working with loads high in inertia.
The Yaskawa CIMR-VU4A0004FAA Variable Frequency Drive comes with a two-year warranty.
