The universal variable speed AC drive module UNI 4401 is a Size 4 drive manufactured by Control Techniques for use with induction and servo motors. The UNI 4401 module includes a nameplate indicating the product description. Important information; including the drive type, approvals, power ratings, model number, and drive ratings can be found on the nameplate.
Unidrive module UNI 4401 is a size 4 drive with a 400 V voltage rating. The nominal rating at 380 V is 45 kW and the nominal rating at 460 V is 75 hp. The output current for the 4401 is 96 A. The typical input current is 76 A. The Unidrive operates in four operating modes: Open Loop, Closed Loop Vector, Servo, and Regan. Overload in open loop mode is 150 % for 60 s. Overload in Closed Loop mode vector 175% for 60 s. Overload in Servo mode 175% for 4 s, and Regan mode 150 % for 60 s.
The UNI 4401 drive module is ventilated internally through the supplied heatsink fans. Appropriate clearance must be maintained for a free flow of air.
The front left side of the UNI 4401 drive module has an upper and lower display at the top. The programming keys are below the lower display. The three control keys are below the main display. The keys control motion such as Forward / Reverse, Stop / Reset, and Run. The connection for a large option module is located below the control keys followed by the small option module connection space. The front bottom of the UNI 4401 has two connections. The bottom left front connector is an encoder connection. The bottom right front is for control connections. The Size 4 module has AC In and AC Out located on the bottom front of the drive. The Unidrive modules (1-4) have built-in braking transistors.
The UD 70, UD 71, and UD 78 are large option modules. The U70 is an applications module, the 71 is an RS232 and RS485, and the UD 78 is a Servo module. Other available large option modules for the UNI 4401 are the UD 73- UD 77.
