Additional Information
The Control Techniques UD 53 resolver interface module is a small option module for use with the Unidrive control unit.
The UD 53 resolver interface small option module is applicable for installation in the Unidrive. The UD 53 works with resolvers. The resolvers operate with the following specifications:
Input impedance: >85Ω at 6kHz
Turns ratio (primary: secondary): 3:1 or 2:1
Excitation voltage: 6VRMS or 4VRMS
The UD 53 is used for position and speed feedback. The UD 53 small option module is installed in a drive unit that must operate in one of two modes. It must operate in either closed loop vector or closed loop servo mode.
What do the simulated-encoder outputs produce? Quadrature AB signals are produced and correspond to the line counts from the source of the encoder. The outputs are able to be configured for both frequency and direction. Whether it is configured for frequency or direction, the outputs retain information about position even when the direction is changed.
What is the output default source for the UD 53? The resolver is used for the source of the simulated-encoder output. Encoder I, the main encoder connected to the 15-way D-type on the drive, can be used as the main source.
The pulse count per revolution can be scaled by factors of 2.
The UD 53 small option module is installed in the fitted slot in the bay of the Unidrive.
Multiway connectors allow all connections to the drive. How are external equipment connections made? Connections are made by way of a plugin 16-way screw terminal block on the UD 53.
