The 140 AVO 020 00 is an analog out module manufactured by Schneider Electric made for use with the Modicon Quantum automation platform. The 140 AVO 020 00 is a mixed voltage module that allows for output voltages in mixed modes and at different levels. The levels can be accessed through the use of jumpers on the field wiring connector. The Modicon analog output 140 AVO 020 00 has four channels. Please note this module is not HART compatible.
To address product communication the Schneider Electric 140 AVO 020 00 presents six main features. The component identification, located on the top front of the Modicon 140 AVO 020 00 module, includes the module number, module description, and color code. The color code for the 140 AVO 020 00 is green. The LED display is located below the identification information. The fuse cutouts are beneath the LED on the inside of the Modicon module 140 AVO 020 00. A field wiring terminal may be inserted into the front of the module. The field terminal strip module features a removable door and label and is a separate order item. A customer identification label may be placed inside the removable door in the field terminal strip.
The Schneider Electric 140 AVO 020 00 is a 4 channel output unit with a bus current of 700 mA, the power dissipation of 4.5 W (max). I/O map = 4 output words, with a wiring length of 400 m (max). It has a 12-bit resolution. The bipolar voltages for this module is +/- 10 VDC (Min. load resistance = 1 kohms) +/- 5 VDC (Min. load resistance = 500 ohms). The unipolar voltages are 0 ...10 VDC (Min. load resistance = 1 kohms) 0 ... 5 VDC (Min. load resistance = 500 ohms). The output current is +/- 10 mA max. (any range).
Four LED lights (1…4) display green ("ON") on the front panel during normal operation. If the display lights do not display green “ON” this is an indication that active communication has stopped for some reason. Previously set panel software configuration will determine output values. As long as the LED 1…4 remains green, “ON”, the output levels are predetermined. When there is a stoppage, the master override levels become output on all channels (1…4).
No outputs are generated when the green LED lights are off. Output may be present if the master override is in use. How is the master override connected? The mater override is connected through an internal relay contact to the output. This occurs when the Modicon 140 AVO 020 00 is not active. If the module is connected to an outside connection, a 1/16 fused fuse allows master override input. It must be connected to the commons of the channel if the module’s master override is not connected to an external source. The override relay transition time for the master override is generally 2ms. If the master override inputs are not tied to a system common, another option is an external supply. The external supply must include a source impedance of < 200Ω. When the input channels for the module are in use, they cannot float.
