The Quantum 140 DRC 830 00 8 x 1 relay module is manufactured by Schneider Electric for use on the local Modicon Quantum with Unity Pro discrete and Analog I/O station. It is an 8 x 1 Normally Open / Normally Closed unit.  The Schneider Electric 140 DRC 830 00 relay module is tasked with using eight relays with normally open and normally closed contacts to switch voltage sources. These products are manufactured in France and are designed for Material handling, packaging, and textile machines usage. They come with a 2-year warranty from MRO Electric. Features of the Modicon 140 DRC 830 00

The Schneider Electric 140 DRC 830 00 is manufactured to switch voltage sources on the Modicon Quantum platform. It does this using eight relays. The eight relays employ normally open and normally closed contacts for the voltage switch.

There are several components to the Schneider Electric 140 DRC 830 00. The six components of the 140 DRC 830 00 are the Module number, description, and color code, LED, fuse cutouts, field wiring terminal strip, removable door, and customer identification label. The model number, module description, and color code are located at the top front of the Modicon 140 DRC 830 00.  The LED is located directly beneath the module number and module description.  

The fuse cutouts are located on the left side inside the panel door. The field wiring terminal strip is inserted in the front of the 140 DRC 830 00 inside the panel door. The panel door is removable and is fitted with slots for a removable customer identification label. The customer identification label can be customized to your specifications.

The Modicon 8 x 1 relay module 140 DRC 830 00 comes equipped with 8 LED indicators. The ACTIVE mode LED indicator is green when bus communication is present.  The F LED indicates red when there is an error, external to the unit, detected. LED indicators one through eight will indicate green when the indicated point or corresponding channel is turned ON.

Relay comm one through eight N /C (normally closed) are located down the left of the field wiring strip. Down the top right side of the field wiring strip are the N / O (normally open) terminals one and five. The output terminals are down the right side of the field wiring strip in terminals 11, 13, 15, 21, 23, 25, 27, and 31, 33, 35, and 37. The rest of the right-side terminals on the field wiring strip are N / C (normally closed).  There are two recommendations for switching DC voltages with the Schneider Electric 140 DRC 830 00.  The first suggestion is to connect the source to the common pin and the second recommendation is to connect the load to the N/O or N/C contact.  External clamping is suggested for the Modicon 140 DRC 830 00  when connecting 125 VDC inductive loads.  External clamping will extend relay contact life.
